About
Who I am
I'm João Vitor Porto, an international trade professional with more than a decade of hands-on experience moving goods between Brazil and the rest of the world. I grew up between two cultures: I spent ten years living and studying in the United States, in Boston, Florida and Los Angeles, before returning to Brazil. That makes me fully bilingual in English and Portuguese, and comfortable on both sides of any negotiation.
My career has covered every stage of a cross-border deal. I started in commercial sales and import sourcing, finding suppliers, negotiating prices and freight, and assessing whether an import made sense. I then moved into freight and logistics, helping exporters and importers choose the right mode of transport and working with shipping lines, airlines and carriers. I also prepared the documents and certificates that keep cargo moving.
Later I worked as an export analyst for one of Brazil's leading ceramics manufacturers, managing accounts first in Europe and the Far East, and then across North America. Today I bring that experience to North South Trading Co., connecting buyers in North America with trusted Brazilian producers, and handling each shipment personally from first inquiry to final delivery.
